Alison is a Clinical Psychology with an interest in assessment and treatment of a wide range of developmental, behavioural, psychological conditions, and dual / complex presentations in children, adolescents, and families. Alison has over 16 years experience working with individuals across the lifespan, in both government and private acute and community settings.

Alison has a keen interest in working with child and adolescent clients, and is passionate about supporting young people and their families to develop the skills to make sustainable, lasting change and reach their true potential and thrive. Alison’s therapeutic approach is compassionate and collaborative, individualistic and non-judgemental, resilience and strength-focused, playful and always evidence-based.  Alison utilises a range of treatment approaches, including cognitive-behaviour therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, schema therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, play-based, narrative and attachment frameworks, depending on the client’s presenting concerns. Furthermore, Alison has focussed on schema therapy extensively, with her pursuit of further training in 2019.  Conjunct family-based interventions and school consultations utilised by Alison offer a holistic approach to treatment, and such an approach provides strategies to parents and educators for collaborative and consistent intervention approach which is fundamental for change. Alison enthusiastically values learning, and is excited to be commencing more specialised training in Schema Therapy specific for Child and Adolescent clients (ST-CA) in May 2019.
